"In our bilateral relations, everything seems to be not so bad. Although there is a slowdown, and we would like trade, first of all, to develop at a faster pace. But well-known external events, the collapse of the Russian ruble by almost half, of course, have affected the situation within Kazakhstan, within Belarus," said the Belarusian leader.
"Your invitation is timely, an attempt to discuss this situation and, if necessary, make a decision. Because this is alarming to us. Negative trends are accumulating, and much depends here on the Russian Federation; the three of us must find a way out of this situation so that our union remains attractive, so that people see that we have positive dynamics, at least within our union," noted the President of Belarus.
Alexander Lukashenko recalled that last year much attention was paid to discussing problems in the EAEU. The President of Belarus proposed exchanging views on the expansion of the union, the accession of Armenia and Kyrgyzstan to it.
The Belarusian leader also drew attention to the presidential election campaign underway in Kazakhstan. "You know our attitude towards you, you know that we are rooting for you and care a lot, we wish you victory. I know that the Kazakh people treat you with the utmost attention and warmth, and I think this presidential campaign will pass. But however it turns out, we need to think about the future," noted Alexander Lukashenko.
