"After gaining sovereignty, we set ourselves the goal of building a state for the people, where the full and free development of the individual is ensured and human rights are respected," Alexander Lukashenko emphasized.
The President touched upon the issues raised by parliamentarians, including human rights, the rule of law, and democracy. "We are doing everything to ensure that there is no less of these in Belarus than in other European states," he stated.
According to Alexander Lukashenko, the development of the first National Human Rights Plan in the history of independent Belarus has become the most important element in systematically ensuring the entire complex of citizens' rights and freedoms. State organizations and civil society are maximally involved in its implementation.
The Head of State drew attention to the fact that much is being done for the people in the country. The problem of poverty has been solved, a high level of social security for citizens is maintained, and the gap in incomes between different segments of the population is minimal. Everyone is guaranteed the right to education, the accessibility of which makes Belarus comparable to the most highly developed countries, he noted.
"Our state has entered the ranks of world leaders in the level of development of healthcare and medicine. Every citizen, regardless of their wealth, has the opportunity to receive any type of medical care free of charge, including the most high-tech," the Belarusian leader stated.
On July 3, Belarus celebrated Independence Day, marked on the day of Minsk's liberation from fascism. "It symbolizes the historical continuity of the country's independent development path, based on the principles of justice, socio-political stability, good neighborliness, and a multi-vector foreign policy," stated Alexander Lukashenko.
