Belarus plans to establish rapid transport links between Minsk and its satellite towns. This was announced by the President of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, on September 12 during the opening ceremony of the reconstructed historical and cultural complex "Loshitsky" in Minsk, as reported by a BELTA correspondent.
The Head of State emphasized that the Belarusian capital must be kept comfortable for living and should not be overpopulated or attract people from all regions. Therefore, satellite towns such as Rudensk, Dzerzhinsk, Smolevichi, Logoisk, Fanipol, and Zaslavl are being developed, with infrastructure for comfortable living and housing construction being created there.
Currently, the Head of State is reviewing technical solutions for connecting the capital and satellite towns with high-speed transport. "We are considering how to link these areas with Minsk using rapid technical means. It will either be a railway or a monorail... We will see what is cheaper and more suitable for us," Alexander Lukashenko stated. "So that people can travel from Dzerzhinsk to Minsk in 10 minutes."
