"We recently made such a decision with President Putin. From our side, we have proposed specific projects to the Russians that are very much needed and will be in demand in the near future, not only in Belarus but also in the Russian Federation. The Russians are allocating about one and a half billion dollars for these programs within Belarus alone. We understand that without import substitution, especially in critical sectors, so-called critical imports, it will be very difficult for us to develop," emphasized Alexander Lukashenko.
Vladimir Putin also spoke about the prospects for cooperation between Belarus and Russia at the end of May. At the plenary session of the I Eurasian Economic Forum, the Russian leader stated that the countries have the opportunity to work in a number of areas and they will definitely do so.
