"I want to say to Belarusians: happiness, in the broad sense, is one for us – we must preserve our land. Therefore, in this church, addressing my compatriots, Belarusians, I want to ask them, to demand, if you will, as President: protect Belarus. If you lose your land, you will have neither health nor happiness. You will have neither money nor salt, and your children will not be," said Alexander Lukashenko.
The Head of State noted that not everyone understands this: "It is a great undertaking to protect Belarus. We all understand when we lose something in our own home. And this is a big home. So remember: if this big home is gone, your small home will also be gone. And if we fall to our knees, then our Orthodox churches will also disappear, as has always been the case in the history of our country."
The President added that Christ sacrificed himself for the sake of people. "And this is a great lesson for us. We must learn to sacrifice for the sake of what is most important to us – for the sake of people. And I would ask you to always appreciate these sacrificers, just as we appreciate Him. Unfortunately, we do not have many people who know how to sacrifice not only themselves but also their possessions. But they are appearing more and more. And if we appreciate these people, there will be many of them. At least, enough. Therefore, we must value, love, and respect them. This is the philosophy of life," Alexander Lukashenko concluded.
