Demands on science will only intensify, and results will be duly rewarded. This was stated by the President of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, at a meeting on the development of the scientific sphere and the activities of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, as reported by a BELTA correspondent.

"We will only intensify demands on science, and results will be duly rewarded. I want you to understand my approach. It is pragmatic: deliver a product – get paid. An advance? If you earn trust – we will provide an advance, and a significant one. There must be guarantees," said the Belarusian leader. "We need to shake things up seriously, look at what is happening around us, and consider whether we want to end up where certain puppet masters of world politics are trying to drag us. Or do we want to work peacefully and live with dignity?.. If so, then we must truly get to work!"

The Head of State emphasized that without science and innovation, it will be impossible to double labor productivity. Therefore, scientists play a special role in these processes.

In conclusion, Alexander Lukashenko reiterated the need to hold another congress of scientists next year: "We are waiting for you to be ready to hold the congress of scientists next year. It will depend not only on me. I will adapt. You set the time. But the main thing, before the congress of scientists – we must overcome the problems and solve the tasks that are before us today. We have outlined them in general terms. Now, to work!"
