In the Vitebsk region, Alexander Lukashenko familiarised himself with the progress of the harvesting campaign.
The Head of State inspected the fields of the Vitebsk region, as well as the northern districts of the capital region, from a helicopter, which allowed him to see the overall picture. The President was also interested in specific figures – the pace of harvesting, crop yields, and the farmers' plans for the future harvest. In the Vitebsk region, as of August 8, one-third of the areas have been harvested – this result is lower than in other regions of the country.
The President was not very satisfied with the progress of the harvesting campaign. Given the favourable weather conditions, operations can be conducted more intensively. Every minute counts now, the pace of harvesting and the efficiency of work need to be increased – this is the opinion of the Head of State.
