The Head of State noted that the meeting involved a detailed review of plans for the upcoming year, which marks the beginning of a new five-year period and a new stage in the country's development. "The year will be characterized by strict budget constraints," emphasized the Belarusian leader. "We need to ensure macroeconomic stability while fulfilling all our commitments to the people. As promised, the priority in the economy is the individual. Healthcare, education, social protection. We are building a knowledge-based economy. Therefore, our priorities also include science and advanced, cutting-edge technologies."
At the same time, the Head of State observed that "there is currently more talk than action."
"Belarus is a sovereign country. Therefore, resolving existing economic problems primarily depends on ourselves, on how we work, how skillfully we trade, and how effectively we promote our products both domestically and in foreign markets," the President noted.
Demanding the mobilization of all forces for economic recovery, Alexander Lukashenko wants to hear a clear answer on what the government and the National Bank are counting on. "On large enterprises and new projects? Or will we wait for the period of global economic difficulties to end?" inquired the Head of State.
The President demanded that the government create such business conditions that "investors will come to us themselves, bring their money themselves, rather than us seeking them out." "What is needed for this, I would also like to hear from the government," said Alexander Lukashenko.
