On August 7, President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko signed Decree No. 246 "On Official Heraldic Symbols of the Ministry of Internal Affairs". This was reported to BELTA by the press service of the Belarusian leader.
In order to preserve and develop historical traditions, strengthen the authority of the internal affairs bodies and internal troops, and enhance the prestige of service, the head of state decreed to establish the emblem and flag of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. The Decree also approved the regulations on the emblem and flag of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, their descriptions, and images.
The emblem of the Ministry of Internal Affairs is a stylised image of an oval shield of silver colour with horizontal hatching and a border. A sword is placed on the shield with the point downwards; in the centre of the emblem, on a red background, a globe is depicted, above it – a rising sun with rays and the outline of Belarus.
The flag of the Ministry of Internal Affairs is a rectangular cloth of dark blue colour. The upper part features the inscription "СЛУЖЫМ ЗАКОНУ, НАРОДУ, АЙЧЫНЕ!" in yellow, and the lower part has a red and green stripe. The emblem of the department is depicted in the centre of the flag.
