The Head of State, Alexander Lukashenko, signed an order approving the allocation of Br1.1 million from the republican budget, funded by the reserve fund of the President of the Republic of Belarus, to cover the expenses of the Special Fund of the President of the Republic of Belarus for the social support of gifted students and pupils in 2021. The order also approves the decision of the fund's council to award 309 pupils and students.
Presidential scholarships of the Republic of Belarus have been awarded to 187 students and cadets of higher education institutions.
Monetary prizes or incentive scholarships, accompanied by the presentation of the fund's laureate badge, have been awarded to 64 winners of the 17th International Zhautykov Olympiad in Mathematics, Physics and Computer Science, the International Environmental Projects Competition for Pupils (2020), and the International Collegiate Programming Contest (2020).
Monetary prizes have been awarded to 58 winners of the International Student Olympiad "Electrical Engineering-2020", the VIII International Olympiad in Electrical Power Engineering (2020), and the republican competition on the fundamentals of vocational training among pupils.
The Order of the President of the Republic of Belarus is aimed at providing targeted state support to gifted pupils and students, and creating favourable conditions for the further development of their abilities and successful studies.
