In accordance with the document, in 2019, the National Bank's activities were aimed at preserving the foundation for balanced and sustainable development of the Belarusian economy by maintaining price and financial stability.
The main objective of monetary policy – inflation containment – was achieved, with inflation at 4.7% (against a forecast parameter of no more than 5%).
The effective functioning of the banking sector, the preservation of high returns on savings in the national currency, and the availability of loans in Belarusian rubles were ensured.
