President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko has approved the Agreement on the Establishment of the Council of Chairpersons of Supreme Courts of the CIS Member States. The corresponding Decree No. 123 was signed by the Head of State on March 29, BELTA was informed by the press service of the Belarusian leader.

President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko has approved the Agreement on the Establishment of the Council of Chairpersons of Supreme Courts of the CIS Member States. The corresponding Decree No. 123 was signed by the Head of State on March 29, BELTA was informed by the press service of the Belarusian leader. 

The Agreement was signed by the leaders of the Commonwealth countries on October 15, 2021. It is expected that the Council of Chairpersons of Supreme Courts will enhance the effectiveness of experience exchange between states on judicial proceedings, and will also contribute to strengthening cooperation in the field of justice. 

One of the main functions of the Council will be the exchange of information on national legislation and judicial practice, the practice of applying international treaties on legal assistance and legal relations concluded within the CIS by national courts.
