The Head of State drew attention to the significant role of scientists, which today extends far beyond the scope of scientific research. "Each of you is a personality in history. To a large extent, you shape the worldview of the nation. It is very important that your actions and deeds serve the interests of the state," stressed Aleksandr Lukashenko.This is of particular relevance today, as the country is at an important historical stage, which the President called fateful and even pivotal. "We are making changes to the Constitution. In essence, we are writing a message to future generations of Belarusians," said the Head of State. "Our goal is to protect and preserve traditions, values, historical memory, strengthen statehood, and create a political mechanism capable of withstanding crisis situations. We must remember that all this is being done for our children and grandchildren."
Science must serve the good of humanity, but first and foremost, the people of its own country, the Belarusian leader is convinced. "You, as true patriots, as people with a clear civic stance, understand this perfectly. And you understand that your successes are one of the factors of Belarus's national security," said Aleksandr Lukashenko.
"You know my attitude towards the scientific sphere and scientists. I have invited you to have an open discussion about accumulated issues and to determine the prospects for the development of domestic science," noted the Head of State.
