The current times demand that every Belarusian think not only about themselves but also about the country. This was stated by the President of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, at the New Year's Ball for youth at the Palace of Independence, as reported by a BELTA correspondent.
"Dear friends! Today, the Palace of Independence belongs to you. I have said many times and will repeat that it is open to all who strive to honestly and conscientiously serve their Fatherland and their people," Alexander Lukashenko addressed the ball participants.
The Head of State emphasized that the history of modern Belarus is being made here, and strategically important decisions are being adopted. "People who are not afraid to take responsibility for the country's destiny participate in their discussion. And our celebration today is also a page of history. But the history of our Motherland," the President noted.
Alexander Lukashenko remarked that cadets are present in the hall – future officers who can already speak about duty to the Fatherland and patriotism themselves. "It is in their blood, as they have chosen such a noble profession – to defend the Motherland. And the current times demand that each of us think not only about ourselves but also about the country, however high-flown it may sound at times. Regardless of whether we wear shoulder straps or not, work in a state institution or paint pictures," added the Belarusian leader.
