Lukashenko presented state awards to the most successful women and general's epaulets to the most courageous soldiers

President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko presented state awards to distinguished figures from various fields and general's epaulettes to representatives of the highest officer and command staff. The solemn ceremony, following tradition, took place on the eve of March 8th at the Palace of Independence, as reported by a BELTA correspondent.

"It is difficult to conceive of an event more fitting in spirit and meaning for the Year of Peace and Creation than our joint ceremony today," stated the Head of State at the beginning of the event. "By a good tradition, in these first spring days, we honour the most successful women of the country and the most courageous warriors."

Speaking about why women who have chosen the challenging path of motherhood are held in special esteem in Belarusian society, the President explained that it is the highest calling and the meaning of life, the affirmation of immutable human values, and the foundation of all existence on this earth. "Indeed, it is on selfless maternal love, great female hearts, and their inexhaustible energy that everything on our planet rests," emphasised the Belarusian leader.

Heartily greeting all women, and through them, all mothers of the country, Alexander Lukashenko thanked them for their maternal feat.

The President noted that women today, alongside men, are successfully developing science and technology, strengthening industrial potential, ensuring the country's food and financial security, building homes, creating works of art, teaching, and healing people. They also bring glory to the Motherland at the most prestigious forums and leading theatre stages of the world, preserving and multiplying Belarus's cultural heritage.

Addressing the men present at the ceremony – officers and generals – the Head of State stressed that they too are the embodiment of the Year of Peace and Creation, because under their reliable protection lie our sovereignty and independence, or, more simply put, "our quiet and peaceful life."

"In times like these, people begin to understand the true value of seemingly simple things – peace, order, and tranquility," stated the Belarusian leader.

The awards and new epaulettes, which the ceremony participants received in a solemn setting, are, according to the President, a recognition of significant personal merits before the Fatherland, confirmation of their professional proficiency, and a sign of the high trust of the Belarusian people.

"I am sure you are also well aware that our common duty is to ensure a lasting peace on Belarusian soil. Whatever it may cost us! I believe in each of you, in our army, in the people in uniform, and in all those who wear them today," said Alexander Lukashenko.

The Head of State thanked everyone for their honest work, professionalism, loyalty to duty, and patriotism. He sincerely congratulated everyone on their high awards and titles, and the women on the upcoming holiday. "I wish everyone new great successes in their work, personal lives, robust health, happiness, and well-being," the President added. "Everything we, the men, are doing today is for you and the children you have borne. I hope you will bear more, although you, those present here, have fulfilled your duty in full."
