All major agreements in cooperation with China must be transformed into concrete projects. This was stated by President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko at Peking University during a meeting with the Party Committee Secretary of the university, Chairman of the Academic Council, and Deputy Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the National People's Congress of China, Hao Ping, as reported by BELTA.

"The Chairman (of the PRC. - BELTA's note) and I are old friends. Because we assess the global situation similarly and have the same outlook on world prospects. Following our meeting, negotiations are continuing at the government level at the level of Deputy Prime Ministers. All our grand intentions and agreements need to be grounded and translated into concrete projects. On the instructions of Xi Jinping and my own, the Deputy Prime Ministers are precisely engaged in this," said the Belarusian leader.

He also stated the need to enhance communication between the peoples of the two countries: "Today, the Chairman of the PRC placed a special emphasis on this. To strengthen communication between youth groups, and young people in general. Because the future belongs to them."

According to Alexander Lukashenko, issues of student exchange were among those discussed at the meeting with Xi Jinping. "We need to strengthen and intensify this exchange. We need to expand cooperation, not confine ourselves solely to biotechnology. We need to engage in chemistry, physics, mathematics... There is interest from China in establishing cooperation," noted the President.

Hao Ping recalled that in 2015, during the state visit of the Chairman of the PRC to Belarus, he was also part of the delegation in his capacity as Deputy Minister of Education and personally experienced the hospitality and friendship of the people of Minsk.

"You have reminded us of the history of our relations. One of the pages is connected with you. This is very pleasant. You know Minsk, you have visited Minsk. This means it will be easier for us to intensify our contacts in the field of education," remarked the Belarusian leader.

Alexander Lukashenko noted that during the current visit, he had a conversation for about four hours with his very good and long-time friend, Chairman of the PRC Xi Jinping. "He recalled when we first met in Minsk. He was the Deputy Chairman and visited Minsk. And I was very pleased that he remembers even the nuances of our meeting," the President said.

Peking University is a key higher education institution in China. Together with Tsinghua University, it is considered the most prestigious university in the country. The university has over 46,000 students, of whom about 3,300 are foreigners.

The university structure includes 55 directly subordinate institutes, over 120 research laboratories are in operation, and the university library is considered one of the largest in Asia.

In September 2016, Alexander Lukashenko addressed the students of Peking University.

In June 2019, a memorandum of understanding was signed between Peking University and Belarusian State University. In May 2022, an agreement was signed with BSU on the creation of a joint educational program in the specialty "biotechnology".
