President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko advocated for the introduction of the strictest measures for non-payment of taxes. The Head of State announced this today at a meeting with the leadership of the Council of Ministers, BELTA correspondent reports.
"A capital task for everyone present is to introduce the strictest measures for violating tax legislation. Introduce the American laws that are in force in the United States of America. Let's adopt them. No one will criticise – the bulwark of democracy. Taxation is strictly regulated there, and for non-payment of taxes, the penalties are huge. But whole industries are going underground, and we are calmly observing this," the President noted.
Developing this theme, Alexander Lukashenko also spoke about "envelope" salaries. He stressed that there should be the most serious responsibility for such violations as well.
"Take this for immediate implementation," the Head of State demanded.
