Belarus would like to achieve a level of cooperation with China's regions similar to the interregional cooperation with Russia. This was stated by the President of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, at a meeting with the Ambassador of China to Belarus, Xie Xiaoyong, who is completing his diplomatic mission in the country, as reported by a BELTA correspondent.
"A new topic has emerged for us. It is developing very well at the initiative of Xi Jinping. He once drew my attention at a meeting to the regions of the People's Republic of China. Because, he said, some of our regions are larger than individual states in the world. Both in terms of population and GDP. Trillions of dollars. Therefore, we have begun such serious cooperation with the regions of the PRC," the head of state noted.
"We will also pay close attention to this and develop cooperation with the regions. We would like this level of cooperation to be approximately the same as we have with the regions of the Russian Federation. That is, there is already experience in deepening and expanding this cooperation," added Alexander Lukashenko.
