President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko heard reports from the Head of the Presidential Administration Dmitry Krutoy and the Chairperson of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly Natalya Kochanova on October 22, BelTA reports.
The main topic of Dmitry Krutoy's report was the preparation for a major meeting on ensuring the sustainable development of the Vitebsk region, which will be held at the end of the current week. The President was briefed on the plan of upcoming work, the main points of which are detailed reports from the regional leadership on key areas.
Issues requiring constant attention and control were also discussed. These include significant decisions previously made regarding the Vitebsk region. This covers the work of integration structures and the region's agro-industrial complex as a whole, the performance of the industrial sector and the situation at problematic enterprises, and most importantly, the region's development program. All these areas are under special control, and on Friday, at the meeting, each of them will be discussed separately. This was emphasized by Alexander Lukashenko while hearing the report from the Head of the Presidential Administration.
The second topic of Dmitry Krutoy's report was information work. Its regulation falls within the scope of the Presidential Administration's responsibility. The report discussed the work of government members and senior officials in the media. This includes informing and explanatory work on key aspects within the competence of ministries and departments, as well as responding to issues of public concern. The Head of State's key instruction is to establish an information balance.
In addition, a report was presented on improving the mechanism for sending officials abroad on business trips and organizing the workflow in accordance with the requirements of Directive No. 11 - holding meetings, board sessions, and other events outside working hours, without distracting officials from performing their direct professional duties.
The main topic of Natalia Kochanova's report to the Head of State was monitoring of the trade sector at the local level and pricing processes. By the President's decree, such monitoring is carried out by the Council of the Republic and the House of Representatives. The heads of the parliamentary chambers regularly report to the Head of State on the current information on these topics. In particular, the House of Representatives sends a report on the monitoring results to the President once a month. These same issues were also the focus during the report of the Chairperson of the Council of the Republic – fairness in pricing, organization of trade in regions and rural areas, public sentiment in general, and problematic issues of concern to the population.
In addition, Natalia Kochanova reported to the Head of State on a block of personnel issues that fall within the competence of the Council of the Republic.
