President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko congratulated the employees and veterans of Belarusian Railways on their professional holiday – Railway Worker's Day. BELTA was informed about this by the press service of the Head of State.

"Belarusian Railways is a vital link in the country's transport system and a source of pride for its people. Every year, you transport over 60 million passengers and more than 100 million tonnes of various cargo. Everyone who uses the services of Belarusian Railways is absolutely confident in your reliability and punctuality," the congratulatory message reads.

The Head of State recalled that the glorious labour traditions of Belarusian railway workers were established with the opening of the first section in Belarus, Porechye – Grodno. "Since then, several generations of drivers and conductors, dispatchers and station staff, track walkers and repair engineers have proudly worn the uniform of a Belarusian railway worker and have been working responsibly for the benefit of their country," noted Alexander Lukashenko.

"I am confident that improving the management of transportation, developing infrastructure and technologies, and increasing the potential of export transport corridors will allow you to further strengthen your positions and continue to move forward steadily," emphasised the Belarusian leader.

The President wished the industry's employees, their families and loved ones good health, happiness, and new professional achievements.
