President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko congratulated the personnel and veterans of the transport troops on their professional holiday – Railway Troops Day. This was reported to BELTA by the press service of the Head of State.

"The history of this unique branch of troops dates back to 1876, when the first railway battalion was established in Baranovichi. Since then, railway formations and military units have played an important role in strengthening the country's defence capability, combat readiness and mobility of the Armed Forces," the congratulatory message reads.

Alexander Lukashenko emphasised: "Possessing high qualifications and professional skills, alongside special tasks, the railway soldiers make a significant contribution to the implementation of important state programmes for the development of the transport infrastructure of the Republic of Belarus. Thank you for your military service and devotion to the country and the people."

The Head of State wished everyone good health, happiness, family well-being, and new successes in their service activities for the prosperity of their native Belarus.
