Fishing is permitted with the simultaneous use of fishing gear of one type or different types (setlines, tip-ups, fishing rods, etc.) with a total of no more than 5 hooks per angler, the Lepel Inter-district Inspectorate for the Protection of Fauna and Flora draws attention to.
This rule does not apply to anglers who are members of the Belarusian Society of Hunters and Fishermen. They are allowed to use up to 10 hooks while fishing. The use of setlines, tip-ups, and other similar systems and tackle is prohibited at night.
In case of detection of anglers violating these rules on water bodies, the inspectorate staff have the right to bring the offender to administrative responsibility under Part 1 of Article 16.25 of the Code of Administrative Offences, which entails a fine ranging from 10 to 30 basic units with or without confiscation of fishing gear.
