The parties exchanged views on topical issues of the bilateral and international agenda, and discussed the prospects for cooperation within the OSCE.

"The Finnish side shared its assessments of a number of current processes, including those concerning national minorities and Belarus's interaction with the European Union," the Ministry of Foreign Affairs noted. "In turn, Vladimir Makei informed his interlocutor in detail and objectively about the dynamics of the constitutional process taking place in Belarus, the development of intra-societal dialogue, and other issues."

The preservation of approaches and principles on which Belarus is ready to build interaction with its Western partners was substantively confirmed. "The conversation was held in a constructive and mutually respectful manner. Mutual interest in maintaining communication channels, continuing working contacts, and sustaining dialogue was stated," the Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported.
