22 December, Vitebsk /Olga Bogacheva - BELTA/. Low-income residents of the Vitebsk region will receive financial assistance by New Year, BELTA was informed at the Committee for Labour, Employment and Social Protection of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee.
Financial support amounting to at least five base units (one base unit is currently Br35 thousand) will be provided to low-income large families, single-parent families, and families of non-working disabled persons raising minor children, families raising disabled children under 18, non-working single pensioners, non-working disabled persons of groups 1, 2, 3; persons from among orphans and children left without parental care, aged 18 to 23.
Payments will be made from local budgets. Their disbursement will begin this week and will continue until December 30 inclusive.
State targeted social assistance (STSA) amounting to Br8.9 billion was received by over 35 thousand residents of the Vitebsk region in January-September. In the structure of recipients, out of the total number of appointments, 32% were single-parent families, 18% were full families raising one or two children, 27% were large families, and 15% were single citizens. For 898 applications during this period, a decision was made to provide targeted social assistance for the payment of technical means of social rehabilitation for disabled persons of the third group and children under 18 not recognised as disabled, amounting to Br755.1 million.-0-
