The "Memory Train" marathon, dedicated to the 73rd anniversary of the Soviet people's victory in the Great Patriotic War and the 100th anniversary of the Komsomol formation, will start on April 27 in Vitebsk, a BELTA correspondent was informed by the Vitebsk Regional Committee of the BRSM.

The three-day event is held within the framework of the republican patriotic project "Flowers of the Great Victory". It will be opened by a "Dialogue of Generations" on the theme "A Look Through the Years", which will take place at the Palace of Creativity of Children and Youth. Youth, activists of the regional organizations of the BRSM, "Belaya Rus", the regional branch of the Belarusian Peace Fund, and trade union organizations will take part in it. Veterans of the Komsomol movement have also been invited. Representatives of regional and city authorities, deputies, and leaders of public associations will act as experts. The main aspects of the discussion will be the issues of patriotic education of youth and the continuity of generations.
The marathon program includes a rally at the monument to fallen Komsomol members-underground fighters in the Zheleznodorozhny district of Vitebsk, laying flowers at the monument to the famous underground fighter and partisan Konstantin Zaslonov in Orsha, and a visit to the "Brest Fortress-Hero" memorial complex, where veterans of the Komsomol movement will present youth IDs to new BRSM members. During the journey, the participants will enjoy many creative activities: a competition for the best cubicle, a historical quiz, and competitions for the best photo and video.
The marathon is held with the aim of popularizing the history and attractions of Belarus, civic and patriotic education of youth, and involving them in socially significant public activities.
