The first prize of $3,000, a special prize, and a laureate diploma were awarded to Alisher Zhaksybay from Kazakhstan. The second prize of $2,000 was divided by the jury among three participants. The award winners were Diana from Romania, Shukhrat from Uzbekistan, and Polianna Ryzhak from Ukraine. The young contestants were presented with special prizes and laureate diplomas of the X International Children's Competition "Vitebsk-2012". The third prize of $1,000, a special prize, and a laureate diploma of the competition from Vitebsk was won by Paulina Skrabite from Lithuania. The solemn awarding of the competition winners took place today in the "Vitebsk" Concert Hall at the gala concert of the "Melodies of the Emerald City" competition. At the ceremony, special prizes from the Parliamentary Assembly of the Union of Belarus and Russia were also presented to contestants representing the countries of the Union State. Gifts from the union parliamentarians were awarded to Liza Muravyova (Belarus) and Anna Muzafarova from Russia. The International Children's Music Competition "Vitebsk-2012" was held from July 16 to 18. On the first day of the competition (July 16), in the "Vitebsk" Concert Hall, young participants performed a pop song by a composer from their country and in the language of the country they represent. On the second day (July 17), they performed a pop song of their choice that best showcased the contestant's performing skills and artistic abilities. Belarus was represented at the competition by Evgenia Klepitskaya and Liza Muravyova. Mariam (Bulgaria), Ana Jovancic (Bosnia and Herzegovina), Talli (Israel), Agate Albekeite (Latvia), Andrey (Macedonia), Denis (Moldova), Aigul Valliullina (Russia), Valeria Khomenko (Ukraine), Sofia Ryämonen (Finland), Masha (Montenegro), and Daria Saaliste (Estonia) also participated in the children's competition. They were awarded participant diplomas.
