In the current year, 66 road traffic accidents involving pedestrians have been registered in the region, in which 10 people died and 56 were injured.
Traffic police officers will visit work collectives and educational institutions to remind them of the rules for safe behaviour in the dark, and to explain the need to use retroreflective elements and high-visibility clothing.
Special attention will be paid to suppressing traffic violations regarding the granting of priority to pedestrians at regulated and unregulated pedestrian crossings, as well as regarding pedestrians wearing retroreflective elements in the dark.
