August 31, Lepel /Own correspondent/. For the second year, a bookmobile has been operating under the Central District Library: it delivers books to villages that do not have stationary libraries. Last year, 350 rural readers were served, and five thousand books were issued. The bookmobile has eight routes, the most remote of which are towards the villages of Kraitsy – Chernitsa and Bor – Karayevichi. It runs once a month along each of them. During this time, villagers manage to read the borrowed books and decide what to ask the librarians for next time.

Classics, contemporary literature, and agricultural magazines such as "Priusadebnoye khozyaystvo" (Household Plot), "Khozyain" (Master), "Sad i ogorod" (Garden and Vegetable Garden), ecological magazines like "Rodnaya priroda" (Native Nature), and women's magazines like "Alesya" and "Kudesnitsa" are in demand. This year, librarians are helping readers navigate new works of contemporary Belarusian literature by holding a series of reviews titled "Masters of the Word: 2012 – The Year of the Book". Villagers enjoy reading works by Belarusian writers Vladimir Salamakha, Viktor Pravdin, and Ales Zhyk.
