A masterclass by artists of the Honoured Collective of the Republic of Belarus Presidential Orchestra was held as part of the "Unity Marathon" at the I. Solertinsky Vitebsk State Musical College.
There were more people wishing to listen to the musicians' performance and hear their professional advice than the assembly hall could accommodate. Among those who performed for students and teachers were laureate of international competitions, holder of the Grand Prize and laureate title of the Special Fund of the President of the Republic of Belarus for the Support of Talented Youth, pianist Alexander Danilov; laureate of international competitions, Presidential Fund scholar, cellist Maria Makhvits; holder of the Francysk Skaryna Medal, guitarist Sergey Kuntsevich, and others.
Those attending the meeting enthusiastically supported their talented fellow performer, third-year student Nikita Vershelovsky, who has become a laureate of prestigious competitions, as he appeared on stage with the orchestra artists. He also received words of praise from the virtuoso pianist Alexander Danilov.
Incidentally, the Presidential Orchestra includes a graduate of the Vitebsk Musical College, percussionist Yuri Shablovsky. It is possible that in the future, the ensemble will be joined by other alumni from the city on the Dvina River.
– We are happy that as part of the "Unity Marathon," we have the opportunity to visit different parts of Belarus. In Vitebsk, we are giving two masterclasses and also performing at one of the city's enterprises. Music truly unites people, – noted conductor Oleg Chekhovsky.
