The prospects for the development of art in this country and the plans for the day of Ukrainian artists will be revealed at a press conference to be held at the International Press Centre with the participation of masters of arts of Ukraine. Much of interest will also be heard at the "Star Hour" - a traditional festival press conference with celebrities.
The festival film program on July 16 includes two films at once: at 3:00 PM, director Andrey Silkin will present the film "The Deal" (Russia) about the fine line between good and evil to the participants and guests of "Slavianski Bazaar", and at 6:00 PM, a presentation of the film "Hot Heart" (Lithuania) will be held, conducted by the film's producer Žilvinas Naujokas, director Donatas Ulvydas, and actor Mantas Jankavičius. The film tells the story of 1861, when Lithuania was part of the Russian Empire. Political intrigue surrounding the abolition of serfdom unexpectedly escalates into a peasant rebellion in a remote Lithuanian village. The serf Tadas Blinda, unwillingly finds himself at the centre of events, leading a detachment of rebels. At the same time, Tadas falls in love with the daughter of a wealthy landowner. The protagonist will have to make a difficult choice between fighting the oppressive regime and love.
At the Vitebsk Regional Philharmonic, despite the contestants' scores already being tallied, the fate of the Grand Prix of the prestigious International Pop Song Performers Contest "Vitebsk-2012" will be decided, while at the "Vitebsk" Concert Hall, the "minor intrigue" of "Slavianski Bazaar" will unfold – the International Children's Music Contest "Vitebsk-2012". A total of 20 young performers from 17 countries worldwide are participating in the jubilee music competition. Gabi from Poland could not attend the music competition due to personal circumstances. Belarus will be represented at the contest by Evgenia Klepitskaya and Liza Muravyova. Composer, singer, and laureate of the State Prize of Georgia, Jemal Sepiashvili, considers this contest one of the brightest events of the rich festival life.In the evening, the National Academic Drama Theatre named after Yakub Kolas will host a screening of the ironic detective story "The Trap" by the International Theatre Company "ART" (Russia), and at the Summer Amphitheatre, the best artists of Ukraine will perform in the gala concert "Constellation of Ukraine". The director of the artists' concert is People's Artist of Ukraine, laureate of the Taras Shevchenko National Prize of Ukraine, Anatoliy Solovyanenko. The new, young Ukrainian pop scene at the festival stage will be represented by the winner of the Grand Prix of the International Competition of Pop Song Performers "Vitebsk-2007" Nataliya Krasnyanska, laureates of the same competition, Honoured Artist of Ukraine Volodymyr Kvasnytsya, Inna Voronova, Nataliya Valevska, Vasyl Levytskyi (Vladyslav), participants and laureates of international competitions and festivals Tetyana Shyrko, Ivan Berezovskyi, Larisa Gordiyera, Tetyana Tsvir (Koritsa), Violetta Dranga, as well as the group "Volya". Viewers will be invited into the world of classical art by Honoured Artist of Ukraine Myroslava Solovyanenko, and into the world of pop music by Honoured Artist of the country Iryna Skazina. And the main stars of "Constellation of Ukraine" will be the truly People's Artists Iryna Bilyk and Volodymyr Hryshko. The concert program will be hosted by Mariya Orlova and Timur Miroshnychenko.-0-
