On January 10, Minsk /BelTA correspondent/. A mother and her 17-year-old son died in a fire in the Orsha district, the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Belarus informed a BelTA correspondent. The fire broke out on the night of January 10 in a log wooden house in the village of Antonovka near Orsha. The rescuers were called by a driver passing by on the highway nearby. By the time the firefighters arrived, the house was engulfed in open flames, and the roof and ceiling had collapsed. The owner of the house, born in 1962, and her younger son (born in 1994) were in the burning house – both died. The elder son was not at home. As it turned out, the day before the fire, the owner had been visiting neighbors and returned home around midnight. The house was electrified, and an autonomous fire alarm was installed. It is not yet known whether it worked. According to rescuers' assumptions, the cause of the fire could have been an unlocked furnace door. -0-
