Due to the adverse meteorological conditions established in the territory of the Republic of Belarus, accompanied by frosts, strong gusts of wind, blizzards, snowfalls, snowdrifts, and icy conditions on roads, pavements, and courtyards, as well as the formation of significant amounts of snow and ice on the roofs of buildings, structures, and other objects, a complex situation has arisen.
Cases of roof collapses due to snow load have been registered, namely:
On 11 February 2021, a slate roof collapsed over an area of 100 square metres of the cowshed building of SPC "Sosnovy Bor" in the village of Gryazivets, Chaussky District, Mogilev Region;
On 12 February 2021, 180 square metres of reinforced concrete roof slabs of the cowshed building of the "Bobovichi" branch of OJSC "Gomel Poultry Farm" collapsed in the agro-town of Bobovichi, Gomel District. Seven heads of cattle perished.
