Two vehicles each will be dispatched to districts: the new equipment will operate in Gorodok, Shumilino, Senno, Beshenkovichi, and Liozno, while four vehicles will remain in Vitebsk. Viktor Gomonov, Chief Physician of the Regional Ambulance Service Centre, stated that the vehicles are equipped with defibrillators, ventilators, and ECG machines, as well as oxygen inhalers. "Modern equipment will help provide emergency medical assistance on-site, in cases of trauma, sudden illnesses, and en route to the hospital," noted the chief physician. According to him, excluding this update, the service has received 67 new vehicles over the past five years.
The ambulance service in the Vitebsk region is undergoing reorganisation with the establishment of central institutions. In addition to Vitebsk, inter-district centres will be created in Orsha, Polotsk, and Glubokoye in the coming years. The ambulance services of the districts adjacent to these cities will be subordinate to them.
