The Lepel District Inspectorate for Natural Resources and Environmental Protection received a call reporting that a helpless bear cub had been found on the road between the villages of Novye Volosavichi and Starye Volosavichi.

Inspectorate staff responded quickly to the report, arrived at the animal's location, and took appropriate action.

It was determined that the bear cub was approximately three months old. The animal has been transferred to the state nature protection institution "Berezinsky Biosphere Reserve."

The staff of the District Inspectorate for Natural Resources and Environmental Protection are very concerned about the fate of the mother bear. It is possible that some citizens may have previously seen the animals or know what happened to the mother bear. We appeal to hunters and all citizens who possess relevant information with a strong request to inform the District Inspectorate for Natural Resources and Environmental Protection by calling 4-82-89.
