A memorandum of cooperation between Belarus and Ukraine, providing for the organisation of joint production of Belarusian agricultural machinery in Ukraine, will be signed in the coming days in Minsk during the "Belagro-2011" exhibition, which will be held from 7 to 12 June. This was reported to a BELTA correspondent by the Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine, Mykola Prysiazhniuk, during the international exhibition "Agro-2011" which opened today in Kyiv. As the head of the Ukrainian agrarian department noted, a corresponding instruction to prepare the document for signing with the Belarusian side within the shortest possible timeframe was given by the Prime Minister of Ukraine, Mykola Azarov, following his recent visit to Minsk. According to the minister, it is very important for Ukraine today to develop joint production and assembly of grain harvesting combines, tractors, and equipment for grain sowing with Belarus. Mykola Prysiazhniuk also positively assessed the Belarusian agricultural machinery presented at the "Agro-2011" exhibition. "I am impressed by the successes achieved by the Belarusian side in the field of agricultural machinery manufacturing," he said. The Prime Minister of Ukraine, Mykola Azarov, who took part in the opening of the international agro-industrial forum in Kyiv, also highly praised the achievements of Belarusian agricultural machinery manufacturers. The head of the Ukrainian government visited the stands of the Ministry of Industry of Belarus and inspected the machinery presented at the exhibition: "Polesie" grain harvesting combines, MTZ tractors, etc. Leading Belarusian enterprises are presenting their products at the "Agro-2011" exhibition in the Ukrainian capital: MTZ, Gomselmash, Lidaagromash, Mogilevliftmash, Amkodor, as well as a number of joint Belarusian-Ukrainian enterprises, such as Trading House "MTZ-Belarus-Ukraine" (Mykolaiv), "Ukragrobielmash" (Dnipropetrovsk), etc. The opening of the "Agro-2011" exhibition was attended by the Deputy Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Belarus, Vasyl Sedin, the Deputy Minister of Industry of Belarus, Ivan Demidovich, and the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus to Ukraine, Valentin Velichko. Participants of the solemn opening of the Kyiv agro-forum were greeted by the vocal and choreographic ensemble "Bely Ptakh" of the Minsk Palace of Culture of MTZ. -0-
