Soon marks the 130th anniversary of the birth of the Belarusian bard Yanka Kupala. On this occasion, a thematic shelf "Bard of the Native Land" has been set up at the Borovskaya Library. This year is rich in writers' anniversaries. Many of them have already been honored by the library's readers, while preparations are underway for others. The 130th anniversary of Alan Milne, the author of the Winnie-the-Pooh stories, was celebrated with a literary game "Winnie-the-Pooh Gathered Friends". The exhibition-drawing "We are from Grandfather Chukovsky's Fairy Tales" was dedicated to the 130th anniversary of the beloved children's author.
Ahead are the anniversaries of Yakub Kolas and Maksim Tank. In honor of the former, a literary salon will be opened, and the work of the latter will be celebrated with an exhibition "Spiritual Nobility".
At the end of June, the Borovskaya Library is set to host the district festival of Belarusian books "Bards of 'The Land Under White Wings'". As part of the preparations, an exhibition "Books of Jubilarians of 2012" and a children's literature exhibition "Reading in Belarusian" have been arranged. For the second month, the library has been running the "Reader's Ribbon" campaign, during which readers are invited to create a tree of wonders from ribbons. The color of each ribbon signifies a different genre of literature read in Belarusian. Those who wish can also leave reviews of their reading in a special feedback book.
