Local authorities should widely inform people about repair and improvement works. This opinion was expressed today to journalists by the Aide to the President – Inspector for the Vitebsk Region, Anatoly Linevich, following a personal reception of citizens in Polotsk, as reported by a BELTA correspondent.
Two out of the four issues that local residents brought to Anatoly Linevich’s reception concerned this very topic. In particular, residents of one of the houses on Armeyskaya Street in the settlement of Vetrino approached him regarding the improvement of their adjacent territory and the construction of pedestrian paths. Applicants from the settlement of Farinovo were also concerned about the condition of the streets in their locality.
"The issues of improving yard areas and carrying out repair works are among the most pressing when citizens approach personal receptions. Therefore, information on them should be disseminated widely and actively: in newspapers, on radio, television, and on local internet resources. We also need to meet with people more often, then they will know what is happening and what to expect. Consequently, there will be fewer appeals," the Aide to the President is convinced.
Other appeals were related to citizens' personal matters. "Previously, explanations and answers were already provided for them, including those issued by the court, which can only be overturned by higher authorities. Nevertheless, it is necessary to listen to people's statements, consider all aspects of the issue once again, and try to resolve them," the Aide to the President noted.
Anatoly Linevich added that he plans to hold such meetings with the population regularly. Among the most popular appeals are housing, improvement, and roads. He intends to pay increased attention to these topics. At the same time, Anatoly Linevich emphasised that in the presence of serious issues, residents should more actively contact representatives of local authorities. This will help to focus attention on them and speed up their resolution.
