The official opening of the international specialized exhibition "Belagro-2018" will take place today at the "Globus Park" trade and logistics center in the agro-town of Shomyslitsa, Minsk District, BelTA was informed by the Ministry of Agriculture and Food.

536 companies from 28 countries will take part in the exhibition, including Austria, Great Britain, Germany, Denmark, Spain, Italy, Poland, Russia, the USA, Ukraine, Finland, and others.

Collective expositions will be presented by the Ministry of Agriculture and Food, the Ministry of Industry, the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, the Belgospishcheprom concern, Belkoopsoyuz, and other ministries and departments of Belarus. Enterprises from the Czech Republic, India, Pakistan, and the Kirov region of Russia will be represented by separate expositions.

Over 300 units of modern agricultural machinery will be presented at the outdoor exhibition area. Machinery for fertilizer application and plant protection, for harvesting grain and preparing fodder, equipment for land reclamation, cultivation and harvesting of potatoes, sugar beet and other vegetables will be widely represented. Agricultural products, machinery, and equipment will be demonstrated in a technological chain with modern energy-saving technologies for all sectors related to production, processing, transportation, storage, and sales.

Every year, "Belagro" becomes one of the main platforms for business negotiations. This year, the exhibition will be visited by over 20 official delegations from different countries. Thematic conferences and seminars will discuss issues such as ensuring the competitiveness of agricultural products, the use of land resources from the perspective of environmental and economic efficiency, and the prospects for cooperation between Belarus and foreign countries in the field of innovative technologies for agriculture.

The exhibition program is filled with practical demonstrations, presentations, and master classes. Competitions are also planned, including the tasting competition "Champion of Taste," "Best Ploughman," and the competition for the best breeding cow.

In addition to "Belagro-2018", during the Belarusian Agro-Industrial Week from June 5 to 10, the Minsk region will host the international specialized exhibitions "Belferma", "Belprodukt", "Prodmash. Kholod. Upak".
