The grand opening of the international specialized exhibition "Belagro-2019" will take place today at the "Globus Park" trade and logistics centre in the agro-town of Shomyslitsa, Minsk District, the Ministry of Agriculture and Food informed BELTA.
More than 550 companies from 29 countries will participate in the exhibition (Austria, Belarus, Bulgaria, United Kingdom, Hungary, Germany, Denmark, Israel, India, Italy, Spain, Canada, China, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Netherlands, Poland, Russia, Slovakia, Slovenia, USA, Turkey, Ukraine, Finland, France, Czech Republic, Switzerland, Sweden).
At the outdoor exhibition area, visitors will be able to see modern agricultural machinery (over 300 units). In particular, machinery for fertilizer application and plant protection, for harvesting grain and preparing fodder, as well as machines for land reclamation, cultivation and harvesting of potatoes and vegetables will be widely presented. Agricultural products, machinery and equipment will be demonstrated within a technological chain with modern energy-saving technologies for all sectors related to both production and processing, transportation, and storage of products. Alongside Belarusian agricultural machinery manufacturers, foreign companies will showcase their developments. A retro-machinery exhibition will also be held traditionally.
One of the main innovations this year will be the innovative exposition "Experimental Field". Cereal crop varieties were sown here in September 2018. At the exhibition, visitors will be able to see, compare and evaluate the sprouts of experimental varieties of winter wheat, triticale, rye, and barley, which will be presented by the Scientific and Practical Centre of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus for Agriculture and the German companies.
Every year, "Belagro" becomes one of the main platforms for business negotiations. More than 30 official delegations from different countries will visit this year's exhibition. A wide range of issues concerning the competitiveness of agricultural products, the use of land resources from the perspective of environmental and economic efficiency, prospects for cooperation between Belarus and foreign countries in the field of innovative agricultural technologies, as well as other relevant issues can be discussed at thematic conferences and seminars.
