22 August, Tolochin District / Diana Kurilo - BELTA/. International observers from the CIS have begun monitoring the election campaign in the Vitebsk region today. This was reported to a BELTA correspondent by Leonid Dorofeyenko, Deputy Head of the Organizational and Personnel Work Department of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee.
The group of international observers will familiarize themselves with the organization of the election campaign, the preparations for the voting, and the activities of the district election commissions. It is expected that international experts will participate in commission meetings where the registration of candidates for deputies will be carried out.
Today, 22 August, all 14 district election commissions for the election of deputies to the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus of the fifth convocation are scheduled to register candidates for deputies. In the Vitebsk region, 61 citizens have submitted application packages to obtain candidate status, of which 34 are party nominees. -0-
