The "4th Eurasian Scout Jamboree", an international scout gathering, will open in Belarus on July 16, the Belarusian Republican Scout Association (BRSA) informed BELTA.
The Jamboree will take place in the Stolbtsy district. Scouts from Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Moldova, Russia, Tajikistan, and Ukraine, as well as representatives of national scout organisations from distant countries, will gather here. The Secretary General of the World Organization of the Scout Movement, Ahmad Alhendawi, has confirmed his participation in the gathering.
The BRSA outlined the Jamboree's programme. On July 18, International Day, the cultures of the participating states will be presented at the gathering. The host country will showcase its cultural and historical potential on July 20 during the "Belarus Welcomes Friends!" festival. A large-scale interactive event is planned in honour of the 30th anniversary of Belarusian scouting.
The key themes of the Jamboree will be "Children and Youth as Messengers of Peace" and "Dialogue for Peace". The discussion will contribute to expanding international relations, multicultural education for children and youth, establishing cross-cultural communications, and promoting Belarus's tourism potential, the BRSA is confident.
The gathering is held with the support of the World Organization of the Scout Movement.
