An international bench press competition will be held in Vitebsk, the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee informed BELTA.
The sports competition "Slavic Cup 2018" will be held on May 12 at the Vitebsk Central Sports Complex "Dynamo". Athletes from all regions of Belarus, as well as from Russia, Ukraine, and Uzbekistan will take part in the competition, and representatives from other countries are also expected. A total of 137 participants are registered, including a Master of Sport in bench press, a record holder of Belarus and Europe among veterans, Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee Nikolai Sherstnev; Honoured Master of Sport of Belarus, 2008 Olympic Champion, 2007 World Weightlifting Champion Andrei Aramnov, and other renowned athletes.
The tournament will be judged by a highly qualified team of international category judges from Russia, Belarus, and Ukraine. The competition starts at 8:30 AM.
