On November 16, 2017, President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko signed Decree No. 413 "On the Interdepartmental Commission for Information Security," BELTA was informed by the press service of the Belarusian leader.
The establishment of this commission under the Security Council of Belarus is driven by the need to enhance the effectiveness of entities performing tasks to ensure information security, as well as their interaction, including with government bodies and other organisations ensuring the development of the information society in Belarus.
The implementation of the decree will improve interaction and increase the effectiveness of government bodies and organisations performing tasks to ensure national security in the information sphere; ensure a comprehensive approach to developing measures to counteract risks, challenges, and threats to national security in the information sphere; and develop proposals for improving legislation in the field of information security in a timely manner.
Furthermore, the document will allow for the consistent improvement of regional and international cooperation mechanisms in the interest of strengthening the state's national security in the information sphere.
