On December 23, Minsk /BelTA correspondent/. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Belarus expects that European partners will be able to move away from biased assessments and develop an objective reproduction of what happened in Minsk on December 19. This is how the Head of the Information Department - Press Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Andrei Savinykh, commented today at a briefing on the statements made by European colleagues following the presidential elections in Belarus and the events provoked by the opposition minority, BelTA correspondent reports. "We are carefully analyzing all statements made by our European colleagues following the presidential elections and the events provoked by the opposition minority," emphasized the MFA representative. "As a preliminary assessment, we note that these statements are an initial involuntary reaction, they are highly emotional in nature. They lack a rational component of assessment." Andrei Savinykh noted that the events provoked by the unlawful actions of the opposition minority overshadowed the election process itself and the results of the expression of will of the impressive majority of the Belarusian people. "We are actively working with our European partners, providing them with objective information about the events that have occurred, and we expect that our efforts will help them move away from biased assessments and develop an objective perception of what happened," stressed the Head of the Information Department of the Belarusian MFA. -0-
