On December 14, Minsk /BelTA correspondent/. The Ministry of Economy of Belarus has set trade markups for prices of socially significant goods. This was reported to a BelTA correspondent by the Public Relations Department of the Ministry of Economy. This decision was made by Resolution No. 200 of the Ministry of Economy dated December 14, 2011, "On trade markups for prices of socially significant goods and on repealing certain resolutions of the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Belarus". The document was adopted in accordance with Resolution No. 1655 of the Council of Ministers dated December 7, 2011, which approved a new list of socially significant goods and services, the prices of which are regulated by the Ministry of Economy, regional executive committees and the Minsk City Executive Committee. As noted by the Ministry of Economy, commenting on Resolution No. 200, a mechanism for regulating prices of socially significant goods has been determined. This will prevent unjustified price increases for consumer goods and services. Currently, Resolution No. 200 is undergoing legal review at the Ministry of Justice. As previously reported, the list of socially significant goods regulated by the Ministry of Economy includes 27 items, compared to 14 previously. This includes boiled sausages, frankfurters, dumplings, offal, minced meat, cheeses, fish, salt, oatmeal, coffee, and tea. The list has also been expanded to include certain types of baby food. The list of socially significant goods (works, services) whose prices (tariffs) are regulated by regional executive committees and the Minsk City Executive Committee has also been supplemented. This includes hosiery and soap. Previously, regulation was carried out only for these goods for children. Now the list of other children's goods has been expanded, in particular, beds, prams, and baby blankets. Prices for shoe repair services will also be regulated. -0-
