12 December, Minsk /BelTA correspondent/. The minimum wage in Belarus from 1 January 2012 will be set at Br1 million. This decision is contained in the Resolution of the Council of Ministers of 9 December 2011 No. 1666, the press service of the Belarusian government informed a BelTA correspondent. The resolution also establishes the hourly minimum wage at Br5930. The document is adopted in accordance with the Law of Belarus of 17 July 2002 "On the Establishment and Procedure for Increasing the Minimum Wage". The resolution comes into force on 1 January 2012. The increase in the minimum wage contributes to strengthening the social protection of low-paid categories of employees in all organizations across economic sectors, regardless of ownership form.-0-
