11 August, Minsk /BELTA/. The monthly minimum wage (MW) for July of the current year is indexed, as in the previous month, by 5.4%. This is due to the fact that the consumer price index for July did not exceed the five percent threshold compared to the month of its previous indexation (June 2016), the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection informed BELTA.
Since January 1 of the current year, the monthly minimum wage has been set by the government at Br2.3 million. Taking into account the 5.4% indexation, the MW for July of this year amounts to Br239.18 (after denomination).
MW is a state minimum social standard in the field of remuneration, which the employer is obliged to apply as the lowest limit of remuneration for employees for work under normal conditions during normal working hours when performing the duties of an employee, local regulatory legal acts and an employment contract.
Monetary incomes (wages, state scholarships for students, scholarships for clinical residents, scholarships for employees sent for advanced training, retraining, internships in full-time (daytime) form of study in another locality) received from budget sources, and wages of civil servants and persons equated to them, monetary allowances of military personnel, officers and enlisted personnel, monetary allowances of conscripts, Suvorov cadets, military unit cadets, military educational institution cadets for July of the current year are not indexed, as the consumer price index did not exceed the five percent threshold compared to the month of their previous indexation (April 2016).
Unemployment benefits and scholarships for citizens during vocational training, retraining and advanced training, established from the basic amount, at the direction of the labour, employment and social protection authority of the city, district executive committee are indexed by 5.4%, as the consumer price index for July did not exceed the five percent threshold compared to the month of their previous indexation (June 2016).
For the population receiving income in the republic from other sources, compensation for losses from inflation is carried out on the grounds provided for by collective agreements (agreements).
