28 September, Minsk /BELTA correspondent/. The minimum wage in Belarus will increase by 54.7% from November. The corresponding decree was signed on 27 September by the President of the Republic of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, BELTA was informed by the press service of the Belarusian leader. The decree provides for the establishment of the minimum wage at Br400 thousand and the hourly minimum wage at Br2360 for November-December 2010. Thus, the minimum wage will increase by 54.7%, and the hourly minimum wage by 54.2%. This will strengthen the social protection of low-paid categories of workers in all organisations across economic sectors, regardless of ownership, prevent a decrease in the ratio of the minimum wage to the subsistence minimum budget, and bring the minimum wage level closer to the level of the minimum consumer budget.-E2-
