To promote a careful attitude towards nature among residents and guests of Belarus, and to prevent violations of environmental legislation and damage to the environment during recreation, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection, in conjunction with public ecologists, is holding the campaign "Rest Right: Without Harming Nature!" from July 10 to July 17 of the current year.
To promote a careful attitude towards nature among residents and guests of Belarus, and to prevent violations of environmental legislation and damage to the environment during recreation, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection, in conjunction with public ecologists, is holding the campaign "Rest Right: Without Harming Nature!" from July 10 to July 17 of the current year.
During the specified period, state environmental inspectors will conduct raids to prevent violations of environmental legislation by the public during visits to recreational areas and spots near water bodies, specially protected natural areas (SPNAs), and during amateur fishing, as well as conduct awareness-raising activities on organising recreation without harming nature.
In Belarus, particular attention is paid to maintaining order on the land, preparing recreational areas and spots for residents and guests of the country, creating conditions for ecotourism and amateur fishing, as well as preserving valuable ecosystems, and maintaining order in forests, SPNAs, and water bodies.
Despite the fact that every year more designated recreational areas are being equipped in the republic and the level of environmental awareness among citizens is increasing, unfortunately, there are still cases of irresponsible attitudes of holidaymakers towards the environment.
The most frequent violations of environmental legislation committed by "unfortunate tourists" include: lighting fires in prohibited areas, burning dry vegetation, washing and parking vehicles outside designated areas, unauthorised waste disposal, damage and destruction of green spaces, including red-listed plants, and others.

To avoid harming the environment, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection recommends that citizens and guests of Belarus organise their outdoor recreation in specially equipped areas and observe the simple rules outlined in the leaflet below.
