Foreign Ministers of Belarus and Tajikistan, Vladimir Makei and Hamrokhan Zarifi, noted the high level of interaction between the two countries at a meeting held in Ashgabat, BELTA correspondent reports. According to Vladimir Makei, the meeting of the heads of state during the official visit of the President of Belarus to Tajikistan in October 2011 gave an additional impetus to the intensification of bilateral trade and economic cooperation. "As for interaction in the international arena, we have no problems at all. We cooperate very actively in international organisations," he noted. Vladimir Makei also confirmed the invitation to the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan to visit Belarus. Hamrokhan Zarifi stated that bilateral relations between Belarus and Tajikistan are developing quite successfully. Serious agreements have been reached between the countries in both political and economic cooperation, the implementation of which will allow Belarusian-Tajik relations to be raised to an even higher level. "We have always supported each other both in bilateral relations and in the international arena, including in the UN, OSCE, and other international organisations. We have always had practically unified positions," stressed the head of the Tajik MFA. As reported, on 4 December, Ashgabat will host a meeting of the Council of Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the CIS member states (MFA CIS), where it is planned to discuss issues of humanitarian cooperation, documents on interaction in the fields of culture, sports, tourism, and environmental protection. Special attention will be paid to issues of deepening regional ties in the humanitarian sphere and ensuring security. The MFA meeting will be held on the eve of the meeting of the Council of CIS Heads of State. -0-
